Serving Our Whole Community: Now Featuring Spanish and Hmong Translations

Updated: Oct 18

At Rice Street Car Wash, we’ve always believed that keeping your vehicle clean should be easy, fast, and welcoming for everyone. Our community here in Saint Paul, Roseville and Maplewood is beautifully diverse, and we’re proud to serve customers who speak many different languages.

To make every visit smoother and more accessible, we’ve added Spanish and Hmong translations throughout our self-serve wash bays — so you can read and understand each function clearly, in the language that feels most comfortable to you.

Why Translations Matter

When you’re standing in a self-serve bay with the water running and soap ready to spray, the last thing you want is confusion about which function does what. A simple mix-up — like hitting wax instead of rinse — can waste time and money.

By adding Spanish and Hmong labels next to every function, we’ve made it easy to see what each setting does at a glance. Whether you’re selecting Tire Cleaner, Brush Soap, or Low-Pressure Water, the instructions are now clearly displayed in English, Español, and Hmoob.

Built for Our Neighborhood

Rice Street and Larpenteur Avenue sit at the crossroads of one of Minnesota’s most culturally rich areas. We see families and business owners from every background — from long-time locals to new residents — all using our wash.

Adding translations isn’t just about convenience; it’s about respect and connection. We want every customer to feel welcome and confident using our equipment.

A Quick Look at What’s Translated

Our updated panels and dials include translations for all ten self-serve functions — from Concentrated Soap and Foaming Wax to Low-Pressure Water. The labels are color-coded and easy to read, designed to match the flow of your wash cycle.

How to Use the Translated Bays

  • Select your language by reading the corresponding text under each function label.

  • Pay as usual — $4 to start for 4 minutes, with coins, card, or mobile pay.

  • For credit-card customers, don’t forget to press the flashing green “STOP” button when you’re done to end the timer.

  • Enjoy a clear, simple washing experience — no guessing, no stress.

Inclusivity Is Part of Who We Are

Since opening in 1989, our goal has been to combine great technology with hometown service. Adding these translations is another way we’re staying true to that mission.

So next time you visit Rice Street Car Wash, take a look at the new signage in our self-serve bays — and let us know what you think. Whether you say “Gracias,” “Ua tsaug,” or “Thank you,” we’re just happy to help you keep your car shining.
